Medicare Open Enrollment has started!
Medicare Open Enrollment has started!
Plans change every year and your health might change, too. Medicare Open Enrollment is your chance to review and compare your health coverage and prescription drug plan. October 15 to December 7 is your chance to review and change Medicare your health coverage and prescription drug plan to better meet your needs.
New in 2025!
Under President Biden’s prescription drug law, the Inflation Reduction Act, Congress was able to bolster Medicare Part D and provide meaningful financial relief for millions of people with Medicare by expanding benefits, lowering drug costs, and strengthening Medicare for the future.
Beginning in January 2025,
- Everyone with Medicare prescription drug coverage will have their annual out-of-pocket costs capped at $2,000 for covered prescription drugs. The cap only applies to drugs that are covered by your plan, so it’s more important than ever to review your plan options to make sure your drugs are covered.
- All Medicare prescription drug plans (Medicare Part D plans) will be required to offer enrollees the option to pay out-of-pocket prescription drug costs in the form of capped monthly installment payments instead of all at once at the pharmacy. This includes both standalone Medicare prescription drug plans and Medicare Advantage plans with prescription drug coverage. You must opt-in to this program as beneficiaries are not automatically enrolled.
Want to compare plans?
- Go to Medicare.gov and choose “find plans.”
